Summerfest 2019 Game Time - alphabet list of techniques
« on: June 04, 2019, 07:29:24 PM »
I thought we needed a game thread ... and I'm always looking for techniques to add to my Christmas All Year challenge ... so
Can we start an alphabetical list of stamping techniques?

List the next letter, then your technique.  Keep it going.  If we reach "Z" start again with "A" and try not to repeat techniques!

A . Acetate - stamp on acetate, can also do acetate smooshing and smoosh the back of the acetate in paint to color it.

I haven’t done casting in a long time!  Remember when we did it with the toilet paper?

D - Distressing (in its many formats!)

E - embossing, wet and dry. I like embossing using different colors on a stamped image too.

F - faux postage.  I bought a stamp and stencil to help with that ... I think I bought it after a demo from Just For Fun, at a Stamp Fest.

Yep!  ;D  And that's exactly what I thought of when Daniel mentioned it.  I think it was a challenge of his.

H = Heat Gun

A great basic tool right up there with glue gun!

Yeah. probably wasn't me for the TP casting. I almost always cast with paper pulp that is denser than TP.  Lord! Between the fest @ 2 Peas & here, we have definitely covered territory. So glad several of us here have made the journey together, You are all the best!!! :smitten:

I - Inlay technique .  Jennifer McGuire has a video with diecuts, I'm sure there are others.

Oops, sorry I associated you with the TP Daniel!

Heidi, I haven't used my faux postage stamp and stencil in a long, long time ... I need to get it out again.  That would be a good future challenge.  Another oldie but goodie.

Yes Daniel, we do have some history together from 2peas to ArtsyInkers!  It has been a fun journey!

I have a J --  Joseph's Coat. It is an oldie but goodie. It can be done by sponging on various colors, stamping and embossing with clear ep, then sponging over the whole piece with black or dark ink. Sort of what we did for Connie's challenge. Or you can use patterned paper under it all.

Fantastic, April! Can’t believe I forgot that, even when I was thinking the other day how similar Connie’s challenge is to Joseph’s coat!

K - I’m going with Kraft Paper.  For stamping on, coloring on with pencils to get a different look, etc.

L - Loofah (sponge)  :idiot2:

Look in the cosmetic/bath departments for slices of this vegetable sponge. They make great stamps for pattern/texture on BGs & solid image stamps using the 'kiss' techniques.

You never know what will work for stamping... :laughhard:
