Title: November tag swap Partners posted!
Post by: lovepug2 on October 23, 2014, 11:17:49 AM
Hello everyone! Are y'all ready for another tag swap?! I am! :D

I was thinking about this last week and thought this month it would be fun to do one a little bit different. This months theme is for a recipe tag swap. Your requirement will be to include one of your favorite recipes on your tag.
I know it could get a little tricky to do that so I am leaving the size of your tag open to you.
Here are some suggestions for keeping it on a smaller scale-
Just include either a snippet or title of your recipe on the front of the tag and put the remainder on the back.
- or you could make a little pocket on the back of the tag and tuck the recipe in there.
- create your tag by using an index card. Those are lots of fun to alter.
- or you could create a tag with different  folds on it. I know Daniel has done several variations of those and they're fantastic!

I'm keeping this open through Saturday and will post partners Sunday. Deadline for mailing your tag to your partner will be November 5th.

Hope you'll join in!

Sure sign me up!  Not sure what recipe is my "favorite" tho!  I will need to think about that.

Thank you for hosting again.....it is very much appreciated.

Oh this sounds like a fun one! But I'm going to have to pass. I will be out of town Nov 1st through the 8th so no way I can get one done and meet the deadlines.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with. The pocket idea sounds fun

Aww that's too bad, Kathy!

Sadie, I've got about 10 favorites that popped in my head all at once! Gonna be tough to narrow it down.

Lol, Daniel!

This will be like our own virtual thanksgiving with everyone bringing their favorite recipes!

I'm thankful for 'loop holes'! My fave will definitely be one of my recipe stamps (or more).

Long as November's tag swap is recipe-related, I'd like to share our family's fave recipe for 'Tukey Timer Stuffing'.

Take one turkey & fill the cavity with unpopped popcorn. Roast until the corn pops enough to blow the butt off the boid--that tells you it's done. ;D

I wanna drumstick!  ;D

Just got my latest order of supplies & I 'think' I know which recipe(s) I'll use for the tag. Fun!

Not bragging, but time & tides worked in my favor! I made my tag & (gasp) I like it!

Looking forward to seeing who it's going to...

Anyone else join our swap party?!?! Still time to sign up!

LeighAnn, if you could still sign me up I would like to do the swap this month---I'm sorry I missed the deadline yesterday.  But I'd really like to swap!

LOL, Melissa! I'm betting LeighAnn will say "yes". She's a 'pug' not a 'pit bull'!

Now all you have to do is join Nov. KIAE.

Got your PM, pal. I agree that Pug's making & mailing is a bit 'tight', but I know your up to it & I do begin to feel like keeping some timeframes a bit shorter helps kick start us. Helps us avoid the dreaded 'overthink' & more.

Since I know you can muli-task? Just use a copier to transfer Great Grandma's treasured recipe for 'yellow cheerios' to cardstock & turn it into a tag. Easy-peasy.

Same for the KIAE kits. Just toss in the stuff & you're fine.

Remember, we have a whole week before stuff has to be mailed--so get busy! :laughhard:

Melissa, not a problem!! Of course you can still sign up!

So here's the list of swap mates this month!
Melissa to Heidi
Heidi to LeighAnn
Sadie to Daniel
Daniel to Melissa
LeighAnn to Sadie

Looking forward to seeing the tags this month! And I still need to pick a recipe ::) I'm so indecisive sometimes!

Cool! Might get my tag mailed today, but probably tomorrow.

I have a mailing address for Melissa & I'm pretty sure Sadie has my address. Good to go! O0

Yes Looser I do have your address and the tag with the recipe is laying here on my desk ready to go.  I was looking at it though and it looks like I might need some more glue on the "envelope" on the back that holds the recipe so I might not get it mailed until tomorrow.  LOL I guess I need to look into some other type of glue cause my fabric tac has not been working as well as it once did.  Maybe that's because I do different projects now than what I used to do......

TY LeighAnn for letting me join late!

oh my! Sadie and Daniel y'all are on top of things having your tags completed!!   O0  I'm still debating recipes….but I think have one….

I have your address Heidi (as long as you haven't moved recently).

LOL, Sadie! I hearya on the added sticky to seal envelopes. My go-to is clear tape. And I need to get a new roll--along with a box of business size envelopes.

Have fun, Melissa! I tweaked your tag just a bit, but it has been 'enveloped', addressed & postaged. Putting it out for mailing tomorrow.

Wow! Sadie and Daniel! You two are on the ball :o. How exciting we will get to see some tags soon!

I started mine last night. Got my recipe done, the image and base for my tag are about 90 percent complete. Hopefully I can finish it Wednesday.

The tag I made went in the mail yesterday so it is on it's way across this great country (ok, half way across).  I hope it makes it and the recipient likes it.  The recipe is a favorite but also a recipe is a base, I very rarely actually follow the entire recipe.  So the written recipe is like a sketch to start with but the final product might be much different than the intended recipe.....LOL

Sadie, I rarely follow entire recipes either! That's probably why I'm not a good baker!

My tag is almost finished. I'm hoping to get it done today so I can mail it today or drop it off tomorrow.

Super, I have a few days to get this done, and I already know my recipe I will use and what stamps I will use. I hope to do it over the weekend.

Yeah. It's (often) lots more difficult to 'play' with baking IMO, but once you have a firm understanding of the basic method, you can do loads of variations.

For me, one dish recipes--soups, stews & casseroles are a go-to.

Have to laff... I used a recipe stamp on my tag & didn't include any suggestions for 'tweaking' it (& boy was that tempting!). I figure Melissa can do that &/or ask me once she gets the tag. ;D

I love good Mac 'N Cheese & I'm here to tell ya that Sadie's recipe is a serious heart attack waiting to happen! So glad! ;D

Bacon & 4 cheeses more than offset the 'healthy' ingredients--shrooms, onion, red pepper & spinach! This ain't no 'side dish', folks. It's a meal!  O0

And wow on the speed with which it arrived!

I am making really good progress on my tag today.  I need to get the recipe on there, but otherwise it is nearly done.  Feeling good about making the deadline for sending it.

With Melissa's kind assistance  :smitten:, you can see the tag I sent her here (http://www.duhnproductions.com/Pics/displayimage.php?pid=732).

Sorry for the sparse 'how-I-did', but I ran into technical difficulties. 'Sok. Melissa likes the tag & y'all can see it.

If y'all have questions about the whats, hows & whys? Feel free to ask--better on the thread than on the gallery for me to answer. ok?

Looks like this month's swap is moving along nicely. Looking forward to seeing your tag, Melissa. Wondering if you're recipe is for turkey with mole (moy-lay).  ;D Talk about Thanksgiving with a bit of spice & heat!

So glad you got the tag and like it! The recipe is delicious but probably really bad for you! Oh well, thanksgiving is only once a year and that's when I make it!

I typed out the description twice but I kept getting an error message. The tag is pretty self explanatory. The recipe is written on a separate piece of paper and is attached to the back with the orange paper clip. Another fun find on the tag is the sunflower trim tape- that was in a leftover KIAE swap from Daniel O0

Here's my tag

I really enjoyed this recipe tag swap!  I liked trying to think of how to portray the recipe through the tag created…thought of a few options and just went with the pincushion one.

Thank you LeighAnn for hosting!

Heidi, your wonderful tag came in the mail! We just got back in town and I found your yummy tag in my mail! I just checked to see if I have the ingredients to make it, I haven't had an orange Julius in years! Thank you!

My tag is uploaded to the gallery now, but my ipad keeps freezing everytime I try to link it here.

Orange Julius is my recipe.  It is something we have made for years and years.  It is yummy and a good treat.

Here is the recipe:
2 cups milk
1 6 ounce can frozen orange juice
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
6-7 ice cubes

Add into blender and blend until ice is well crushed.  You can add more or less ice depending on the consistency you prefer.
