Christmas All Year - May 2022
« on: May 01, 2022, 01:48:41 PM »
Time flies!  Happy May Day!

I have two prompts for you.  You can use one or both or none, but please link the Christmas cards you make this month.

1.  GOLD - use gold on your card, as much or as little as you like.  Gold splatters are always pretty.
You can use gold ink, gold paint, gold embossing powder, gold paste, gold foil, gold paper, etc ...

2.  STENCIL - use a stencil on your project.

I know, Connie, you just used a stencil technique last month!  Want to do it again?

Maybe combine prompts and run some sort of gold product through a stencil?

Looking forward to seeing your Christmas creations!

I just wanted to say that I ‘m sorry I can’t comment on all the cards in the gallery from last month!  They are so pretty!  Hopefully the glitch with the gallery will resolve soon!

Hmmm, I haven't had trouble in the gallery I don't think?
I get an error message when I use the message feature, but the messages are still going through.

I assume you're logged in, otherwise I don't think you could start a new thread.  Occasionally I find myself logged out and wonder why I can't comment!

I think I've already commented on everything in the gallery so I don't know if I can test it out.

My five Christmas cards are below. I used gold on three of them and stencils on two and on the deer card I used gold and a stencil. On these cards I used only the things I had in my stash - backgrounds were already made, etc. So these can go with Heidi's challenge too!

A agree with Connie, the first card is super elegant.  I like all of your cards.  I would have thought the second was mica powder over Versamark, but it is neat that it is stenciled.

Doesn’t it feel good to use up stuff!?

I love your cards April!  I miss our gallery, and not being able to comment on each and see a few details about how they were made.  Did you use alcohol markers over the embossed poinsettias on the first one?  Also really like the color variation in the die cut trees.  Stamped or printed paper?  Pretty either way.  Each is card is so unique.  Everything from elegant to whimsical and your signature purple for Christmas!  Thanks so much for playing and posting and using the prompts.  That's wonderful that you used some of your pre-made backgrounds!

Yes, I know. It would be great to have the gallery back up. The trees were stamped on glossy card stock using the ink cube thumping that we did on zoom. I just used a finger dauber and Distress inks to color the poinsettias on the first card. Thanks for the kind remarks on my cards.

I decided to just link to my blog instead of writing it all again here for each card, I made two using die cut image stickers and two that I stamped.
