Title: Whatcha working on?
Post by: Craft Nerd on October 05, 2014, 10:35:27 AM
So have you started on any of the challenges yet?  Finished any?  What are you planning on working on today?

I finished a piece for lighten up and book'em.  I've got my master board half finished for the ATC challenge, my mixed media pieces are dry, trimmed and ready to be put on something, my paper towel stamped piece is waiting for a home, and I've got my piece for the shadow knows waiting to be put on a card.

Today I'm going to finish up my ATC master board and maybe the ATCs as well, and assemble cards to use my mixed media pieces, paper towel stamping and shadow pieces.  And I think I've gotten an idea for Daniel's challenge.

Hope you get to have a very crafty day.

Good morning.  Yesterday I was able to complete two challenges: paper towel stamping and Book'Em.

This morning I am working on my masterboard.  I tried some spray on it, and my Bristol board got too wet so i am waiting for it to dry before I finish it up.  It is fun to do though!

Craft Nerd, you really have got a lot of stuff going yesterday and today!

Happy Inktoberfest Sunday!

Heidi, it sounds like you have the hang of it.  I should go back and edit my challenge.  In class, the teacher kept stressing that we let each step dry (or heat dry) before adding more to our masterboard.  I'm not sure if the video stressed that enough.    I'm happy to hear you and Sarah are playing my challenge!

Yesterday I completed one card using djc's shadow technique and late last night I made some mixed media chipboard pieces for Sadie's challenge.

Sarah, you must work a lot faster than I do!  Good for you!  You got a lot accomplished.

This morning I have been making Lighten Up backgrounds!  I need to stop and make a finished card, but I'm having so much fun with the backgrounds!  Just a few more!

Cindi, the frugal crafter doesn't usually wait too much in any of her videos.  Lol, she is fun to watch though. I want that set of stamps she used.

Yes, I sat for an hour and made backgrounds when I was working on it.  My scrap paper had a lot of stamping off on it.  lol.  But I have extras to work with now.

Cindi - I don't know if I'm faster or if it just that I didn't really do anything other than craft yesterday.     That and just about everything I worked on needed drying time.  So while one project dried, I worked on something else.  In fact, I'm waiting on stuff to dry right now.

I got my master board finished.  Now I need to figure out what I'm putting on the ATCs.  I'm comboing the paper towel and another lighten up piece and I added stickles to both pieces.  So that needs to dry.  And I added liquid pearls to my shadow piece.  So that's drying.

After this break, I'm going to stamp a background from my mixed media poinsettias and maybe get it assembled.

Ok, you folks are all way ahead of me! I haven't even had a chance to play much yet. I have the items picked out for the warm up challenge, but haven't taken a photo yet. I want to do a bunch of others but the fam wanted to play a game this morning and that took about 4 hours, then they wanted me to make cabbage rolls which is taking another couple of hours, LOL.

Looks like I will get to play tomorrow after card making class!

Wow! I can't imagine snow already!

I worked on the mixed media project today and made a huge mess! I like the results though and have an idea for my card!

Craft Nerd... my family SO does not get crafting weekend, LOL. That's why I usually craft mostly during the week.

Let's see... I finished my bookmark, and the warm up challenge. I have tried the paper towel stamping with no luck. I am still trying to find paper that will work on the shadow challenge. Looks like I may go with kraft, so far it's the only one where the shadow shows.

Also trying the lighten up challenge.

I have been too busy with housework and errands the last couple days.  I really want to start the Shadow challenge next, but I haven't picked a stamp yet.

O0  Whatcha waitin' for?  haha!

I've been having fun!  It's so nice to get my stamps inky again, although I must say I made quite a mess with spray ink.  What made me think I wanted to do that at home?  That may be a medium I should have left at the LSS!

I've completed Book 'Em, Lighten Up, The Shadow Knows and Paper Towel Stamping.  I have my Mixed Media pieces made ... I just need to use them on a project.  I think I have my Starting Point embellishments chosen, and I just hatched an idea in my head for Holi-Daze, if i can just remember it overnight!

Looser, don't give up on that masterboard.  I almost threw mine away, but I found some bits looked good trimmed out as ATCs.  I'm anxious to see what you do/did!

I completed a card for the Shadow challenge this morning.  I will take a photo later on and share it.  I have an idea for Daniels holiday challenge and hope to have time to work on it tonight. I need to check the cheat sheet as well to see what else to do this weekend.  i may even combine with KIAE if it works out. :)  Hope you all have some time to craft and party today.

I have 2 shadow challenge options that are dried now, and my mixed media is dried but I am stumped on how I want to use them and I have a BG stamp picked out already on the stamping block for Heidi's challenge.

And I have ideas for Cindi's and Daniel's so I am trying to get the others rolling!

The only one I am stumped on is Sarah's challenge---I really need to do her embellishment challenge b/c I normally start with stamping or a die cut maybe then color and position etc THEN I go look for or make an embellishment if I need one---sometimes one gets added; sometimes not….so her's is a real challenge for me.  I will be doing it Sarah even if I miss the festival deadline!

(oh and forgot about April's paper towel challenge…I stamped one and am kinda stumped on what to do….may get out a spellbinder and see what happens...

I've got several pieces done, I just need to post them this weekend.  I still haven't started Daniel's challenge yet but I know what I'm doing and my ATCs are only half done.

I think I want to make another master board.  So I may do that as well this weekend.  And I can't decide if I want to make more ATCs from my first master board or use it for something else.

I have my card finished for the Starting Point challenge,it's drying. I've messed it up twice already so I'm letting it rest for now!
I have my chipboard pieces drying for the mixed media challenge.
Up next is creating my master board and the holidaze challenge. That will be tomorrow's work!

Well I've finished two challenges. That's better for me than any other party we ever had, LOL. I also have a couple try outs. I tried the lighten up challenge and haven't gotten that right yet. I also tried the paper towel challenge and have a background but it's pretty ugly, LOL. And it has a weird texture to it. It feels waxy for some reason. Any one else's do that?

I am working at a friend's flower shop today and tomorrow going to a small Renaissance Festival so may not get time to finish any more. But as I said, I don't think I've ever completed more than 1 challenge before! And certainly not tried 4! That's a record for me.

This has been a funner party, hehehe!!! I think I may try a few more next week even after the party ends!
