Here are my glitzy backgrounds.

Ha, we're thinking alike Heidi, I just mentioned in my gallery post that I used a swiffer to pick up excess glitter.

I was so happy my Golden gel medium was still in good shape.  A few weeks ago I took Dina Wakely soft gel matte medium to a class to use as a collage medium.  It was a brand new jar, I opened it just before class and it was hard :(   If I can find my receipt I will take it back.  I think I got it at Michaels.

Not sure that I'll have time before the challenge ends, but I'm looking forward to using these backgrounds for cards.

Oh, and I do want to try embossing tinsel.  I'm never sure it will stick by just heat embossing, so I think using it with a paste or gel will be a good technique.

Thanks for the challenge!

Great minds think alike! I don’t remember where I saw the swiffer trick, but it really works well.  Thank you for sharing your backgrounds, I really like them.   And thanks for playing in my challenge!

And my cards with the backgrounds

I like how these turned out but the glitter didn't seem to stick as well, I can't remember if it was something I did on my own or did for a challenge in the past or what but when I did this last time I mixed the glitter with the molding paste and then put it through the stencil and that really kept it from falling off so easy.

Connie, your backgrounds and cards turn out so well!  I am sorry your glitter isn’t sticking well. I know that is what people don’t like about loose glitter.  Maybe mixing it in is a better way to do it.  Especially if the paste dries clear.  There are lots of glitter pastes on the market now. I saw, in Michaels, that there is a Martha Stewart line of glitter paste now. I didn’t know that before.  There were pretty colors.

Thank you for doing my challenge!

You can put versmark over the glitter and emboss with clear.
That traps the glitter.  But it makes  the paper heavier and stiffer.  But who cares.
I am sure the ready made paper you buy with the unmovable glitter use a similar proses.

Be sure to use a old versermark pad.  I have a old one I use for crazy stuff.

I was wondering if a fixative spray would work, didn't think about versamark
