As I was perusing blogs this morning, I noticed there are so CHA sneak peeks going on. So far I see Lawn Fawn and Sizzix.

I have seen all the ones that Tim Holtz shared last week on his blog, there were some cool things I liked from his sneak peeks, on friday they said see you Monday so they may have more this week to share, but that is all I have seen so far.

No, Connie, that doesn't clear up anything for me either. I think we need to know about the ink refills and then maybe we will understand? Maybe someone will get the needed info at CHA and will post it.
The new Distress Oxide inks are something to watch for demos. Tim introduced them on facebook yesterday but did not do any demos.

Hmmm, I don't get if the markers are the same as far as the color line goes or not. Very confusing. It definitely sounds as if the nibs are different.
I saw the distress oxide line, sounds interesting. I keep wondering what else they could release within the distress line.
I haven't seen too much yet but will keep my eyes open for any news.

Tim Holtz has been posting sneak peeks on his blog for the past 6 days. Today's post (http://timholtz.com/2017-sneak-peek-ranger-distress/) features the new distress products. The 2nd graphic block in today's info is a video featuring the distress products. He showcases the distress oxide inks at 15:00 in the video. The inks take on a chalky look once water activated.

Tim holtz's sneak today was a stamp positioner. It looked neat and much more heavy duty then the sweet petunia one. The stamping area is 8 1/2 square. It has measurements on two sides and open on two sides for bigger paper. It is for cling and rubber stamps. He said it will retail for $39.99 and will be out in April. Now that I might be interested in. At least ranger stands behind their products.

That is interesting! Hampton Art and WRMK also has a stamp positioner out for the $30 range, but I was not sure how big the stamping area is.

That chart is helpful, Connie. I agree there are a few new color families in there. There is one set of 6 that does not overlap with my other colors. Maybe I will pick up that one. Having so many of the regular ones, it would be hard to switch to illustrator since I would get doubles of so many colors with the new way they have the sets organized.

a stamp positioner
??? Another stamp positioner? :o
I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I ordered the We R Precision Press on HSN Craft Day. I paid $19.99 and only $5 total shipping for everything ordered that day. I debated and debated whether I needed one at all ... then I compared Misti, Hampton Art, We R ... Who knew there would be another?
The We R press has a working area of 7 by 7 inches and is open on two sides. No magnets. Today is the first day I played with it and I think I will like it. I did have a few slip ups, forgetting to make sure the paper was butted up in the corner, but I think that is just a learning curve. I chose the We R for the open, larger work area and I thought I would like not messing with magnets. I bought one for my mom too (shh, Mother's Day present if I can wait that long to give it to her, probably not!). Amazon reviews mentioned people with arthritis preferring not to use magnets and Mom has arthritis in her hands.

Oh man I didn't know that the magnets could cause problems with those with arthritis, I think I have a starting of it in my fingers.

Connie, I think some people have trouble picking up the magnets ... you can remedy that by attaching a washi tape tab. (lay magnet on a strip of washi longer than the magnet, fold washi over the magnet and the extra on the ends sticks to itself to create a tab. The tab is off to the side) I'm sure you'll get lots and lots of good use out of your Misti!

I had a chance to watch the video on the new Tonic stamp positioner and I do really like it. I think that not having the grid below might hamper how many techniques you can do, but I could just add a piece of graph paper there, so I probably am going to put this on my wish list. It looks so simple to switch from clear or unmounted stamps to cling rubber.

I was looking at the Ranger blog http://rangerink.com/blog/ this morning to see more of their sneak peeks, and I like that they seem to be bringing a lot of things out in a small size. Like Wendy Vechi has a line of acrylic paints + gesso, glaze that are in the Ranger 1 ounce bottles. I think that is perfect for crafters not to have to buy large bottles.
I also noticed more small ink pads, both from Ranger and now Lawn Fawn. The Archival inks have a smaller ink pad, but still rectangle shape, and Lawn Fawn has ink cubes now. I do love the idea of getting the smaller pads.
Ranger also has a small triangle tool they are calling a craft squeegee for spreading pastes and things. I like that idea too.
Dina Wakely also has a set of 12 watercolor crayons. It looks like mixed media is going to be huge again this year.

I just saw some of the ranger stuff. Love the smaller size options. It's funny, I was just thinking to myself yesterday while I was inking up a background stamp that I prefer the mini ink pads for most stamping.
I like the tonic stamp press. I've been debating on one and really liked the one that Hampton arts has. I like the idea of no magnets required. That's just something else for me to misplace!
Seems like coloring mediums still continue to be big. I think the watercolor crayons from Dina wakely look interesting.

I have too much stuff and am trying to avoid looking. ;D Although, I did see the new distress oxide inks and he has a few new stencils that caught my eye.
I'm kinda bummed I got my Misti when I did, since now there are several more options at better prices. Oh, well. As for the magnets, I did the trick with the tape and just leave them on the Misti.

Those scissors are really interesting! I never buy dies for my stamps and I'm terrible at fussy cutting so I wonder if they would make it easier?
I really like the distress ink oxides. I had a dream the other night that he released some more distress colors. I woke up thinking did I dream that or was that real :laugh:?

I did order the full set of Distress Oxides inks. Now I need to think of where to keep them! I may yet order the tonic positiner and I am interested in the scissors...
I did not see any stamps I absolutely have to have. I guess I have enough of them to keep me busy for now!
I did see a masculine paper pad from My Mind's Eye I liked. It has a basic name, something like "For the guys," or something!

They were plastic pieces to help position the cardstock, I think, and a plastic triangle to go in a corner and help you stamp on the diagonal ... I'll look for a link.
Yeah, if I hadn't just bought the We R stamp positioner, I might have gone for the Tonic. It looks really nice. It's not coming out till March though, right?
Also, did you see Judikins demo a little round stamp positioner? It works just like a stamp-a-ma-jig. It's round with a corner cut out of it.
I did see some hot air balloons ... I might look for the masculine paper. I pretty much resisted looking at paper because I have way too much already.
ETA : Misti (https://youtu.be/E2Hsg--CneM), piece to help you stamp straight sentiments, amen for that! I'll have to watch again and see if I can work something for my positioiner! Also a bag, grid paper, etc
ETA 2 : Judikins (https://youtu.be/dlKk5dDDFkA) Cutie Pie stamp positioner. I don't really get how this is better than a stamp-a-ma-jig ... looks like you have to supply your own acetate. Maybe if you live in a "tiny house" or travel with your stamps? It is compact.

I have a stamp a ma jig already so I don't know if I would need the cutie pie, but it does look like it may be a little thicker.

At the end of Tim's U-tube video demo for his stamp positioner (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WykeFdGl4W0) he demonstrates the faux watercolor technique using distress markers and spritizing one layer at a time. It makes for more control of the water and probably can be done with any positioner.
I will be interested to hear AI's experience with the new Fiskars detailed scissors.

I've seen a few different videos; this one has the most information so I linked it even though the picture/speech synchronization isn't good. It will be interesting to see the reviews once it hits the market. I definitely will purchase the needles to use in my as-of-now-unused Janome Mini that I bought over a year ago.

Yea I did hear that we can use those needles in any machine, I wondering if all that paper would muck up my machine for when I do my quilting though. That is neat that they have different items we can sew with too instead of just thread. cool, I hadn't seen that

I just saw Heidi's beautiful Distress Oxide Ink cards, and I came here to see if anyone was talking about those. When I saw one of Tm Holtz's CHA videos, I thought I could live without them, and I probably will not get a bunch of them. I still have some regular Distress Ink colors that I haven't used yet. (Probably because I haven't been making cards.) However, then I watched Jennifer McGuire's video. Sigh. Now I need to get at least three so I can make that gorgeous background (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/02/oxide.html) she made with the Hero Arts Spiral Petals Stencil.

I could have totally cared less about the oxide inks until I saw Heidi's cards and watched Jennifer's video! Now I want them! And you're right, I need at least 3. Has anyone seen them in the stores yet? I went to Michael's and Hobby Lobby last night and neither had them.
I also think that sewing machine looks pretty cool. Sewing with twine? I'll be anxious to hear how people like it.
Daria, you don't use your Janome? Because it's a pain, or you just haven't gotten around to it? M's has one on sale for $59 I think. I was tempted but now I think I might wait. Did one of you say the needles are universal? That would be worth a shot in my old Singer if I get it running again.

Cindi. I haven't even taken it out of the box! All the reviews say that it's very good. My friend Kathy bought one for her granddaugher, and she has made clothes on it. No problem at all.
