In case you need ideas on how to use your distress inkpads for coloring, the two that come to mind for me are watercoloring and sponging.

Any others?

Other ways to use your distress ink pad: direct to paper (DTP) or use a brayer

Rubber erasers work.

I'm currently using a double-ended tool made for working with clay. Sok so far.

My try

Dotting tools & styli will also transfer ink.

Daniel, congrats on being the first to play! I like the way the erasers worked to apply ink to your stamped image!

Thanks for playing!

I used sponging and my distress inkpads to color this card.

I really enjoyed making this and the coloring is quick with sponging!

Perhaps our language has changed again....previously I was familiar with the term sponging as meaning using a textured sponge to achieve a textured ink or paint surface while it looks to me like you used blending tools/blending sponges to achieve your beautiful results Heidi.  Do I need to change-up my language?

Speaking of sponging, I have always thought of it as using a sponge to apply color no matter if it looks textured or not.

Pretty sample, Heidi!

Love your entry, Stampwilly!  So springlike and I am totally in the mood for that!

Jan, hmmm.  I think I hear people around the Internet using both sponging and blending for the same technique.  I feel like the little applicator on the blending tool is a sponge like material.  I can see how it is confusing to the kind of sponging with a very textured sponge, though.

So I am not sure!

I enjoyed using the distress inks for watercolor.  It had been a while since I had used them in this manner.  Thank you for looking!
You know it's been a good day when I haven't released the flying monkeys.......

I just finished posting 3 cards for this challenge.  Distress inks are my "go to inks". Here I used several distress inks as wall as stamps. There are so many resist and similar techniques I thought this would be a fun personal challenge to use this challenge to get clarity about the looks of 3 techniques.  All are somewhat similar but different. Hope you enjoy looking.
Here is the link to the first of the 3 cards.

Here is another entry of mine where I used a Dove Blender pen to pick up color to color in an image.

I have to say, it was really an easy way to color!  The dove blender solution, maybe it is similar to what is in the distress inks?

I am off to look at the new entries in the gallery now!
