I made a Christmas card for my husband ('cause he's the one I want to meet).  :smitten:

I decided to dangle mistletoe, and a few snowflakes.

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe outside

inside

Did anyone else have trouble with the dangle?  Maybe because I hung the mistletoe in the center crease?  It stuck out pretty far and wanted to peak outside the card when it was closed.  I decided to move the side creases closer to the center so everything would hang closer to the inside crease of the card.

Thanks for the challenge Heidi!  I had fun making this, but I certainly won't be mass producing these!

Thanks for playing! I love the mistletoe dangling!

I didn’t have this issue, but I don’t think it is a problem to make your dangler in closer to the fold even when the dangley things are small like my bugs.  You solved the problem beautifully!

Cindy, The scalloped circle I used for hanging my snowflakes has a 1 1/4 diameter and has a 1/8" space before the edge of the card when the card is closed. That is the largest hanging element I would consider using for this pop-up design.  I tested this size using the center fold to hang my circle and adhered with low tack tape. Closed the card for a final test to see that if my large-size dangle would naturally hang inside the card.

I have some stamping friends with whom I have swapped cards for over 25 years...and we all try to share some of our most complex, new skills or techniques each year.  I do think this design goes pretty fast once the pieces are prepped.  I am thinking I will make 6.

Heidi, Thanks again for all the fun!
Jan

Jan, I’m so glad you like the card fold. I am not a fan of complicated folds, but I really liked the simplicity of this one, and everyone I showed the card too had a big smile on their face when they opened it, so it is a winner in my book!

I drew a random number and it was Cindi!  Congrats! I will have a small rak going out later this week!

Thanks to everyone for being good sports and playing along.  Your dangle cards are all so fun.

 #> . Thank you Heidi!

I had fun making the card ... just because I wasn't ready to mass produce after fighting with my fiddly little dangles doesn't mean I didn't like your challenge!  That's what it's supposed to be right?  A challenge!  I think I was tired by the time I was assembling, and things started to go down hill.  I should have tested with temporary adhesive like Jan did!   This morning I went back in and added another thin, glittered border strip at the top to clean up some of my gluing and repositioning.  I'm happier with it now!

Lol, I agree, it is supposed to be a challenge.  I often find the hardest card to make is the first one, especially for card folds.
