My Favorite Things Cross Stitch Deer

After I saw the striped effect of using the Variations floss, I stitched another deer with a solid color. In the end, I decided the first one had more personality so here he is.

CARD:
4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110-lb. cardstock (card base & cross-stitch die-cut)
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80-lb. cardstock (piece behind die-cuts mounted with 3M foam tape)
Textured specialty paper (front piece, Thank you, Jan.)
Unknown wood-grain cardstock (frame)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Large and Small Labels (S4-168 and S4-169) to make the frame (two layers glued together)

FOCAL IMAGE:
My Favorite Things Cross Stitch Tag die set
My Favorite Things cross-stitch pattern
DMC Coton Perlé #5, Sand Dune (Variations 4145) and Espresso (4000)
DMC black (6-strand floss) eyes and Marlitt viscose floss (893) (Thank you, Nora.)
I had to practice and practice making French knots with different threads and thicknesses of threads. For the nose, I just did four cross-stitches, one on top of the other.

So, so sweet! I love the way you did his nose. Practice makes perfect, and the eyes are nice too. The woodgrain frame is great. I like the EF you used for the background too.
