My Favorite Things Cross Stitch Deer

After I saw the striped effect of using the Variations floss, I stitched another deer with a solid color. In the end, I decided the first one had more personality so here he is.
CARD:
4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110-lb. cardstock (card base & cross-stitch die-cut)
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80-lb. cardstock (piece behind die-cuts mounted with 3M foam tape)
Textured specialty paper (front piece, Thank you, Jan.)
Unknown wood-grain cardstock (frame)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Large and Small Labels (S4-168 and S4-169) to make the frame (two layers glued together)

I had to practice and practice making French knots with different threads and thicknesses of threads. For the nose, I just did four cross-stitches, one on top of the other.
