Krylon Spray Paint background

The black mat for my Happy Mail Swap was sprayed with Krylon paint (Michael's sells it). I spray 8.5 x11 sheets of paper to provide enough space for the webbing to spread across the sheet. I spray at a distance of approx 8 to 10 inches but experiment. I spray the papers outside in summer since it is too cold here in the winter. As you can see the results are very random since one needs to move the spray can quickly. I find I use black paper with gold webbing most often.

There definitely is a learning curve to learn about spraying with this product. I find it very easy to get caught up with watching the strings of paint coming out of the can and then I get big globs of paint because I forget to keep moving the can. I find it most helpful use a continuous spray and to focus on keeping my eyes moving ahead of the paint can across the paper. Sometimes I line papers side by side to be be able to use a larger arm motion across several papers to achieve a more even spray.

You still miss some because the webbing is raised, and you can feel like you can embossing. So cool!

Good tips. Thanks. And thanks for telling us MIchael's sells the webbing. I wanted some and didn't think it was around any more.

Oh, my. This brings back memories. I still have several pieces of cardstock I sprayed. I know what you mean about overdoing it. lol. Another tip: When finished, be sure to turn can upside down and spray to clear the nozzle before putting the can away. Daria
